A little bit about me...

I am a homeschooling wife and mother, a teacher, a tea and coffee shop seeker, an antique hunter, a reader, a gardener, and a British and Children's Literature lover.  Thrifting thrills me, skiing scares me, and crocheting calms me. I am coming to you from the beautiful hills and fields of Chester County, Pennsylvania, where I live with my amazing husband, Kirk, and super cool daughter, Reese. Together we try to manage an almost 200-year-old stone farmhouse, along with our old English Springer Spaniel, Hershey, and very sweet kitties, Jellybean (he's very fat) and Sundae (she's very tiny). I like to pretend that our home is tucked neatly beside Beatrix Potter's Hill Top Farm and Jane Austen's Chawton Cottage, because I know we would all be best friends!
I have been teaching in some shape or form for the past 23 years, starting off in my home state of Virginia as a 2nd Grade Teacher and then a 5th Grade Teacher at different Christian schools, and after giving birth to Reese and relocating to Pennsylvania, a homeschool co-op History, Art, Nature Studies, English and Composition tutor.
I never planned to teach. I never planned to love learning about education so much (crazy, right?)  And I never planned to have so many books in my house (I have a lot of books).  But God led me through a fascinating path from being a Jr. and Sr. High Youth Group intern as a college student, to jumping into the classroom head first with very talented and trusting principals, to leading Youth Groups, teaching Sunday School, facilitating Women's Bible Studies, and now teaching in homeschool groups, getting my Graduate degree in Classical Teaching, and leading Book Clubs with friends. It has been a fun ride so far and I am looking forward to this new chapter in my education, publishing a podcast.
